She’s convinced that there’s a logical explanation for Warrick’s abilities, and is determined to use science to prove it, and to develop defenses to fight back. Emla is invited to take part in a last-ditch mission put together by an historian with coordinates to charmed space, a fabled anomalous area in unexplored territory. In charmed space, the laws of physics fluctuate, and Emla believes discovering why could help in the fight against Warrick. She joins the plucky crew of the starship Athena in a desperate race to reach charmed space before Warrick.
